About the same amount as the C5 drivetrain.  Underneith, the C5 and C6 are virtually the same.  If any serious horsepower is to be harnessed, a transaxle brace is a must have.

What would you say the most hp you could make without needing a transaxle brace?

Making power and hooking that power up are two totally different things.  One could make 1000hp and drive like a grandmother going to church on Sunday and it would be just fine.  Likewise, one could be making half that and break stuff.
