This topic was brought up by a friend of mine in a casual conversation not too long ago so I figured I'd get some more ideas flowing.

Personally, I'd go for the road/race theme.  In my opinion, there is nothing tougher looking than an old road racer.  Of course, this would have to be done to a basket case Vette, not a rare or easily restored mint car.

My friend took more of the "fairground cruiser" attitude.  

I know there are no right answers here, I just wanted to see what others thought.

I already built it. I wanted a car to go grand touring - thousands of miles per trip, that had road manners, reliability, comfort, and a c2 body.

If we're really talking C2's the I'd build a '63 Z06 as original as I could get it. A vette-rod is always nice, but then it's not really a C2 is it.

My second choice would be a '65 w/396 ci 425 hp coupe. Rally red w/sidepipes.
