I have an old set of Corvette aluminum valve covers that look bad. What is the best way to make them look like new?

First try soaking them in carburetor cleaner if that doesnt work you mite try having them blasted with walnut shells, it wont hurt the aluminum but cleans them very well. David Steele

You may also want to try some aluminum wheel cleaner on them and then polish them.

Depending on the current finish, there are some acid based cleaners that work quite well. Just spray it on and spray it off. It takes teh oxidation off pretty quick. We then put a clear powder coat on them to seal them up.
