I’m thinking of putting an LS 2 into my 79. I have an manual transmission. Any thoughts/experience?

Keisler will hook you up with a tremec 5 or 6 speed that will match your new motor with the tranny and car and you will have correct shifter placement. correct splines, correct drveshaft length etc.

there is a very very simple way to do this.
you will need the following.
1.spacer(pn 12557583) and bolts(pn 12563533).
2.flywheel(pn 12561680 old 4 speed) or
(pn 12562765 old 6 speed)
3.vss sessor from speed scene wiring. this is and inline adapter that will fit between the trans and the speedo cable.it is not on there web page but just ask and they will make you one for about $90.this very important because the computer will not work correctly without it.
4. trans bell housing bolts(pn 11515767). you will skip one bolt that doesn't match up.
