Hey All,I'm new to the Vette world and have a question about the 6-speed trans.It is a 94 and I've had it since 01.I've had trouble shifting 1st to 2nd,somestimes it would go right in and sometimes it would go 1st to 4th,I just couldn't figure it out.Last night was the first time I've driven it at night and noticed a light come on at the tach in first gear.The light said,(1 to 4),it was right around 2000 rpm.The shifter went from 1st to 4th at that speed,over or under that r.p.m.it shifted normal 1st to 2nd.My question is how does it work?Maybe a selinoid at the shifter that blocks the path?

It's one of those GM Gee Wiz things..
If you are not accelerating hard enough, it forces you to shift from first to fourth to give you better fuel economy.
