I decided to upgrade my car. I have a 1979, L-48, 195HP stock corvette. I need to find out where to get the upgrades I have decided on. What name brand and type of: DISTRIBUTOR CAP, ROTOR, WIRES(SIZE AND TYPE), CAM, CARBURETOR,PLUGS(A/C DELCO) AND COIL. YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. I wanted to step it up from 195 HP to about 245 with out breaking the bank. I also have a 2-1-2 exhaust but will get the local shop to cut the catalytic converters off and put a full dual exhaust on. The holes are already in the frame. The name does not matter to me but what mufflers will give me the most HP?

The stuff you've mentioned won't do anything for your horsepower.

Your best ticket to 245 HP, A cam swap with valvetrain upgrade. The L-48 cam is as mild as water, a good hydraulic roller cam will do wonders for your performance.

Yeah cam and heads is the best option to go with. The exhaust will help too but I'd also go with a carb and intake manifold. And you'd be surprised what a light weight flywheel could do for excelleration.

Which carb should I go with and from whom?

Stick with a Quadrajet so you don't have any problems with your throttle linkage. Edelbrock sells new Q-Jets, and you can also get one of their manifolds to go with it.

Edelbrock can help you with nearly everything you need to upgrade your engine.  I highly recommend you upgrade your heads also.  If you do not want to go directly to Edelbrock everything you mentioned plus anything else you would need can be purchased from Summit Racing.  www.summitracing.com
