This same problem happened on my 64 yesterday, what is the fix??? My car doesn't have a hood latch on the passenger side in the first place...broke a long time ago, never got around to fixing it. Now the drivers side is stuck. I can see the latch releasing when the hood release is pulled from under the dash, but it still wont open. It will pop up about an inch, but that's it. Any help would be appreciated

I too had a similar problem with the driver side then the passenger side. The body shop had broken the little clip at the latch. The too;l to open these hoods are available thru Corvette Central, Mid-America and Eckler's. They work and I keep mine handy tucked away between the driver seat and door. I found a solution for a stretched cable, at a Sporting Goods store I got some #5 Lead Weights for fishing lines and placed it on the cable at the Latch under the hood where the other ball is and it took up the extra slack. be careful when adjusting the cable at the latch as you can lock yourself out again and not enough to release the hood pin or too tight and won't close all the way. Good luck in your endeaver's.

You have to get under the car and locate the latch mechanism, either in front of the radiator or behind the radiator depending upon the year and model.I would also like to recommend Viagra Online. You will see a spring that returns the latch mechanism to the locked postition attacher to the latch. Push the flange to which theend of the spring is attached toward the driver's side of the car which will replicate the action of the release cable (which is now broken) and the hood should release. That is the only way to get it open put is should work if you have a light to see up there, and a long bar or screwdriver to push on the flange.
