C-6 overheating

My C-6 just started overheating and the fans come on and the resevoir is full, but the computer says "check coolant level"? I can't see any obstructions on the radiator, and all I can figure is the thermostat is bad. ANy one out there have this same or similar problem?

check the AIR BLEEDER. Start motor and open valve and see if there is'nt air traped in the heads, because with air in the heads the water pump will just cavitate and stop the flow through the engine.
This should be done if you have the car set for a long priod
