Mine is broken in my 1982. I found several aftermarket applications. I was told by most, they wouldn't last long. The one told me in a yr. that they were going to make a better one. He has my name to contact, when this is available. Didn't here from them yet. They all say they get tired of them being returned.

On my 81 I've replaced the electric antenna the second and last time. When I called and talked to the rep at Zip Corvette he told me that he would sell me another antenna, but he could not guarantee that it would't malfunction within a short period of time. My solution was to raise the antenna, clip the 12v. power wires and leave it alone. It works fine and stays right where I want it so I can listen to the radio.
Perhaps some after-market jobber will make a good electric antenna in the near future. However, having tried both aftermarket and GM replacement antennas, I'm not holding my breath. As far as I am concerned, with the antenna in the "up" position, the problem has gone away.
