After waiting 6 months for GM to find an ECM for my 1992 corvette, I am now looking to get one from a salvage yard. Since I received no seervice from GM, i am looking at bringing the car to some one who specializes in high end car repair.
Can somebody give me some names of places in Massachusetts that they would recommend me to have my car repaired?
Appreciate any help.

get the part numbers off the ecm... 88999183 ? start calling junk yards... they have them by the last 4 part numbers usually .. they call them brain boxes..
since most vettes have anti theft circuits... camaros and firebirds may use the same computer... i have not checked.. you may want to ask the junk yard for the ignition key for the exact car they took the computer out of.. the resistor pellet will need to be measured.. and a matching key blank found and your key cuts copied on it..
did you try the local parts stores...
a1 cardone..??????
did you make sure that there are no other problems with the car.. use a scan tool to look at sensor voltages? if the car does not run... there are tons of other things that will stop it without the ecm going bad... and most of the time... when the ecm fails... it will set a trouble code... for ecm failure... they are smart enough to self diagnose...
plugging in another good ecm without checking the harness and sensors with an ohm meter may cause the new ecm to burn out also... it is rarely the ecm that causes the failure of the ecm.. it is usually a pinched wire.. missing insulation. bad sensor, bad solenoid, bad injector.. that causes failure..
so don't use the ecm like a fuse... oops... it still does not work... this one is burned out also...
there is the iatn,net.. they have a shop finder online.. and many of the techs on there are the cream of the crop....
