i have a 1980 vette which appears to have a gas line leak. looks like a big job to change. anyboby ever change one ?

I replaced the entire fuel system on a 72. It was a fairly big job but not at all impossible to do if you are somewhat handy and have some time.

where is it leaking from... right next to the fuel pump... it might not be the fuel line if it is leaking out the vent hole of the mechanical fuel pump..
the ethanol is hard on pumps... hopefully the replacement will have the newer style parts inside..
by the way... if you have to change the fuel pump.. bring it around to the number one cylinder compression.. as the fuel pump cam lobe will be at the proper angle to install the pump without it pushing the rod out...
you still have to deal with the push rod..
