I have a "98" Vette with a small, but annoying rear main seal leak. I've found, from my "research"' that the parts cost about 32 bucks and I could do it in my driveway on jack stands. I checked the parts and they are about 32 bucks, but I can't find any information on the difficulty of the job. Is it easy or is that a load of crap? If so, can I get some pictures of the procedure, I love pictures, to guide me. I'd really appreciate you help.

Sorry but all I can contribute to this thread is a DIY Rear Main Seal Replacement link which, I'm afraid, doesn't contain any pictures. But I guarantee you, it's got easy to follow steps.

wait... 98??? is that with the transaxle in the rear... and the long driveshaft between the motor and the rear mounted transmission....
if so.. its not a driveway job....
look up changing the clutch...
i don't remember what year gm went to the rear mounted transmission...
somebody help here...
i would first.. verify that it is a rear main seal leak.. not a valve cover or intake manifold gasket leak... perhaps the oil cooler adaptor leaking... anything other than the rear main seal...
ill be back.... with more info...
this picture looks like it has a rear mounted transmission...

if so.. take a look at what it takes to get to the clutch... on a C6..
http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_0804_c6_corvette_clutch/index.html
this is easier... rear main seal replacement.. with an automatic... 8 hours professional flat rate time with all the tools and equipment in a shop on a lift...
with a manual trans... 9 hours of flat rate time... again with all the tools , equipment , in a shop on a lift...
before you think about this... do check for other things to leak.... rear main seals rarely leak a tiny amount..
check the pcv system also... make sure its not restricted... plugged... disconnected... the crank case breather also...
