there is a plunger assy in the valve body..  its sticking or worn out...

there are several sizes...

copy and paste this into a new window.

there are a bunch of other parts that can do this...

how is the adjustment on the throttle valve cable...    engine off... holding open the throttle body linkage.. there should be no play or slack in the cable that goes to the transmission...

adjust by depressing the latch  next to the bracket,  while pulling the cable casing back ...   release the latch .. then let go of the cable casing..  open the throttle... engine off of course..  the throttle valve cable that goes to the transmission should click a few times as it is being adjusted by taking up the slack and moving the cable casing in its holder...
