almost every parts store can get them... if you have the part number off the unit..
are you sure its the ecm.... not something else... there are a lot of things to check before changing the ecm...
you may also have a problem with the antitheft system... they are specific to the original key in the car they were installed in... there are 15 different keys...
what is the car doing.. what codes have you gotten out of the ecm before you disconnected the ecm or battery...
there are about 30 pages of charts to go through before ditching the ecm... and you have to have a scan tool to do it...
how about some more info on what was wrong...

The LT1 92-93 cars PCM are not being manufactured currently by GM. They haven't discontinued it but have not been available for about a year or more. These years were speed/density and have become somewhat rare. I have even checked a few Corvette salvage yards and there are none to be found.

just curious which ecm do you need
Part Number: 77-3993 Notes: R & R item only O.E.M. #16163993
Part Number: 77-9278 Notes: R & R item only O.E.M. #16159278
start calling junk yards... ask for a brain box... 3993 or 9278.... i don't know which one your car has... but the numbers need to match.. many real junk yards have a hot line and sit listening to it...
there are also several places that will rebuild and return it to you....
be sure to include any trouble codes that you have found with it... and which circuits are possibly damaged... some scanners have a port so you can print out the scanned voltages... and sensor readings.. including that will really get the ecm fixed properly...
oh... and by the way... i have fixed so many ECMs off cars... with a solder iron and some skill... the solder connections fail ... heat builds up and moves the solder out.. then shrinks until it cracks breaking contact... this is not for casual electronics guys... you can do serious damage... unrepairable damage..
ham radio guys and VCR techs are good at this... along with recording studio techs...
