91 CORVETTE ODOMETER ERROR

WE HAVE A 91 WITH 51K MILES AND IS DRIVEN VERY LITTLE. SUNDAY MORNING I NOTICED A ODOMETER ERROR " ODO ERR" READING THAT WAS NOT THERE WHEN I PARKED IT SEVERAL WEEK'S AGO. WHEN I TURN THE KEY TO IGN. ALL 8'S SHOW IN THE ODOMETER AREA SO I ASSUME THE PANEL HAS NOT FRIED.CAN ANYONE HELP ME ON HOW AND IF THIS IS A RESET PROBLEM OR A DASH REPLACEMENT? ALL OTHER INSTRUMENTS AND GAUGES WORK FINE.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.
If that doesn't help...do you know how to extract codes from the computer?

I TRIED THE BATTERY DISCONNECT AND THE INFO AT THE SUGGESTED SITE WAS A BIT OVER MY HEAD. NO LUCK, BUT I DO APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND INFO. THANKS.....

THIS PAST WEEK WITH HELP FROM A FRIEND WE REPLACED THE GAUGE CLUSTER AND THE ODO ERROR WAS STILL THERE SO WE CHANGED THE DRIVERS INFORMATION DISPLAY AND SWITCH ASSY. AND THE ODO ERROR WAS SHOWN AGAIN. I REALLY NEED HELP ON THIS ONE.
ANY IDEA'S? THANKS...........

Just out of curiousity..did you have the dealer re-program the mileage into the new CCM

How did u conclude it was a defective CCM? (shotgun?)
Were they able to test the unit out of the car? also can they reprogram it out of the car?
The reason I ask is I suspect my CCM, but would like to cofirm before spending ***

Hey Cycope, are you still on this site? I'm having ODO ERR problems and I was wondering how much your replacement was at the dealer and if it's still working OK..
