I've recently inherited my Dad's 1963 Split Window. It's been garaged since the mid-70's - I'm desperately trying to clarify if the engine is the original. The vette was one of the earlier ones manufactured in '63 and there are several numbers that I've obtained from the top and the underside of the block, GM 3890490 and Firing Order # 18436572 are on the top. The Drivers side has 13GM 3914678 and also stamped on the block on the passengers side are 18w360314 and V0510EP. The Bell Housing is #3858403 and also on the bottom are the numbers T10-7D, R-2, 3813490 and T10-1C with #3782212.
If anyone has any suggestions the dates and on how to trace/research if the engine may be the original that was manufactured for the Vette it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Jeff

Jeff, your EP suffix codes out as a '68 Chevelle / Chevy II with a 327 / 325HP engine with 3 or 4 speed. It is listed as special high performance, but it is not the original engine for your Corvette.
I should mention too that your engine block # 3914678 wasn't produced until '67, primarily for '68 use. Your '63 should have a # 3782870 block in it. Don't worry about it, you still have quite an icon in Corvettes there. Enjoy it.

Jeff:
Thank you for the reply and the indepth information, it is very much appreciated. I was concerned about not having matching #'s and was considering selling the vette, instead I may just complete the project and hang on to her for awhile.
Thanks again!
Best Regards, Jeff
