I have an 88 vette that misses at high speeds such as 65 - 75 MPH.  This only happens once in a while but in a 3 hour trip I noticed it happening about 10 times. Any ideas or does anyone no a good corvette mechanic in the Harford County area?  Thanks

i would swap the ignition coil with a new one...

pull the coil cover.. and examine the sides of the coil for white powder circular marks..  this would indicate that the coil has high voltage leaks...  this happens a lot to in cap HEI coils.. and externally mounted E core coils.. external frame coils..

when installing the new coil... make sure to use the new slightly shorter screws...

new coils have less thickness so if you install a new thinner coil with the OEM long screws.. they will punch through into the inside of the cap..  and cause a really hard to find misfire..

change your fuel filter also.. test to see if its clogged..    if so,, you might also want to change the electric fuel pump...  if its noisy.   takes less than an hour on a vette by removing the fuel fill door and the rubber boot..  be sure to get a sending unit gasket for it..  its square with round corners and a bunch of bolt holes..  delco # G1 i think..   if the fuel pressure drops.. it may/will misfire..

if you decide to change the coil, the cap and rotor.. and probably the spark plug wires...  i would also make sure that you have the factory spark plug wire separators... some vette suppliers have them in sets...   they break.. the wires get too close..   the left rear two need to be separated by at least an inch...   numbers 5 and 7...
