C5 Headlight

I have a 2001 and having problems with my drivers side headlight.  It started with it going up half way, but turn the car off and on and it would fix it.  then the headlight would go down when the lights were on and up when the lights are off.  Now the headlight goes up and down real fast about 5 times after the car is turned off and eventually goes all the way down.  Does anyone have any idea were I can start?

you seem to have several problems..

perhaps something was binding when the head light went up and down..

why its going up and down 5 times fast...    something in the limit switch.. perhaps some of the gear teeth..

if you cannot wait to get a brass gear... i think that dorman also has a gear available..

i think autozone has some repair info on these...  read first.. so you don't end up getting fingers or hands crushed...
