DESERTVETT
Hang in there maybe Wayne will come up with a diagram.
It's been so long since I worked on one of those.I know the clutch linkage has clevis pins and a bushing that wear out.I would try to check all the linkage if you haven't already. Bob

after rereading your post.. try my second post first... your gear shifter has probably gotten knocked slightly out of position..
under the shifter top cover you should be able to readjust cable 1. its just like the throttle valve cable adjustment.. push down a tab while pulling the cable casing forward...
i don't know if you can reach it from under the console.. usually the top cover has to come up..

one more thing.. do you see bolt 33.. where is sticks all the way through to the shifter.. if you notice on the shifter body.. there is an upside down U shaped notch directly below where bolt 33 slides in.. thats for usually a 3/16 rod to align the shifter levers..
if the reverse shifter lever got out of position. in relation to the other levers .. you will not be able to get the shifter in reverse..
you will need to reach up under the car... with a person sitting in the drivers seat... foot on the clutch and the BRAKE... if you can position the car with the center of the car at the curbing and the front wheels up the driveway on the sidewalk.. there will be enough room to slide under without jacking the car up..
you can then grab the shifter levers.. 25, 26 and off to the right 19 to center the shifter arms that drop down under item 14.. this returns the transmission shifter to Neutral .. this is why you really need somebody with their foot on the clutch and the brake.. so you don't end up rolling the car over yourself..
shift rod 19 is actually on the inner most lever at the bottom of the shifter.. next to shift rod 25 and 26...
